Overall this was a very nice room. All was fine except for the humidity in it, but after all I guess that this was 'down south'. It didn't seem like we felt it outside but we sure did in the room. The toilet stool had been repaired but it still leaked water, Thankfully it looked like clean water. The bed was very comfortable and the TV was beautiful (very, very clear). Breakfast was good too.
Outstanding service. The staff was the best I've ever encountered at a hotel. Absolutely the nicest, cleanest, best hotel in Newton. Not near the interstate, but a great location blocks from downtown.
This hotel is a short couple of miles off I-80, so you don't hear the traffic. It's located closer to the center of town, in a quiet area with plenty of parking. The hotel is very modern with a nice pool and large rooms and it's always nice to have a fridge in the room. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was plentiful with lots of selection. I'll be using this hotel now when crossing the mid-west.
This hotel is likely one of a handful available in Newton IA and the staffing here reflects that. Beggars can't be choosers unfortunately. The good: the suite we stayed in was large. The mattress was comfortable and the coffee was great. The bad: staff are pretty blasé in their attitudes towards guests. Many hellos went unanswered, greeted only with stares. When I told the front desk staff that our bathroom sink was slow to drain I got a "sorry" with no eye contact and no emotion. Other than the staff, one should know that the pillows here suck. Bring your own or have a 24 hour neck ache. For not being able to choose your hotel here the Best Western will suffice. Just be prepared to be able to fend for yourself among the lackluster staff.
Very nice Hotel, and wonderful people work there. We were very tired and checked in late at night. Everything went well and the people treated us very nice. Place is clean and everything works great. Plan to stay again next year when we pass through the area.
